Pinkneys Green Cricket Club celebrated their 2018 Colts season on Friday 9th September with fun cricket games, a fastest bowler competition, complimentary BBQ and an awards ceremony.
Our Colts section has grown beyond anyone's hopes starting in 2014 with a handful of youngsters they now boast over a 120 squad across the u9/s/11 and 13's teams.
The 2018 season has seen some good wins for all teams and also the chance to bridge the gap between the Colts and Adults team with an inter-club game with the adults.
Over 200 players, parents and siblings turned up for the evening and enjoyed a fun packed night. Some of the adult team players came along to present the awards to the Colts which the youngsters loved.
A new award was introduced by Dave Butler for Most Improved Colt, in memory of his father who had been president at the club for over 16 years. It was awarded to Amy Woolland an U9 player.
Kevin Snapes our chairman said " 2018 has been the most successful year of colts cricket at Pinkneys Green for many years both on and off the field. We have recruited many new children and had so many parents stepping up and volunteering to helping out whether it be coaching, making food etc. The clubs future looks to be in very good hands."
