On Sunday the Green played Windsor Great Park in the Yorkshire Tea National Village Cup. WGP were entering for their first time and looked resplendent in their matching uniforms. Unfortunately their day was spoilt by a hastily arranged Green side after 3 drop-outs at the last minute due to injury from Saturday’s games. The Green lost the toss and were inserted to bat. Suprej Venkat batted his normal way to amass 47 before being trapped LBW by Allen-Turner. Jagsit Dhillon hit 20 to keep the runs flowing before the Green collapsed losing 7 wickets for 11 runs going from 83-3 to 94-9. In came Saliya Withana who decided to play a series of big shots scoring 33 of jus 19 balls to give the Green a target to defend. In reply Windsor Great Park lost wickets at regular intervals throughout their innings especialy to Shiv Sharma who returned a 5 wicket haul of which 4 were caught at cover by Chris White. Dhillon then took out the tail and the Green were home by 33 runs and will now face Wraysbury away in the Area semi-final on June 3rd.
