The club have received the sad news that life member Len Timms passed away on Thursday.

Len, who played a remarkable fifty consecutive seasons for the Green, was an outstanding opening batsman who played a leading role in the club's glorious decade of success in the 1970s.
A familiar sight around the Maidenhead area, driving his coal delivery lorry, Len spent most of his life living in Halifax Road.
Regularly achieving the feat of 1,000 runs in a season Len was one of the finest batsman in the Thames Valley, and in the 1960s won the Maidenhead Advertiser award for the highest score in a season, notching an innings of 164.
In an era when wickets were more testing, his skill is also reflected by a famous innings of 56 not out against North Maidenhead whilst the Green were skittled for just 72. Similarly when unable to play one day he found the Green were one short, and arrived in time to bat at number eleven. Pinkneys' troubles were eased as he set a Berkshire League record partnership for the last wicket with Max Gabb.
The ability to nurture a lesser batting partner with judicious management of the strike, reflected leadership skills which were given a wider platform in the seasons when he was club captain.
He was also no mean bowler, his disciplined line and length best shown in the 1977 Area Village cup Final when with the Green having been dismissed for little more than 40 at Hurst, he bowled a spell of six consecutive maiden overs whilst the strike bowlers took a break before returning to win a thrilling narrow victory.
As the 80s drew on he stepped down to the second XI where the runs kept coming and his experience was passed onto many an up and coming young player.
Off the pitch he was a much loved bon viveur, always the source of much fun and laughter and his spirit will live on in the unique character of Pinkneys Green Cricket Club.
Everyone at PInkneys Green Cricket sends their sincere condolences to Len's wife June, sons Alan, David and Darren, and their respective families.
